Playing soldiers
In response to pictures of children using UK supplied arms President Ahmar Kabbah told Britain's High Commision in Sierra Leone that all child soldiers will be demobilised from pro-government forces. Abu Kamara, 14 commented when deprived of his British made AK-47 rifle "Take it, it's rubbish. I can't believe your soldiers use such crap." He added that he hoped the forthcoming shipment of 30 tonnes of arms and ammunition would work better.
Another child soldier, Ran Kobam, 5 said "I hate the rehab camp. It sucks. When can I go back to the front?"
Rebel leaders announced that they were delighted the UN has chosen to supply government forces with shoddy British built weaponry. Plans for the occupation of Freetown have been moved forward accordingly.
